Venue
The youth recreational league starts with players age 4 in our U5 (Under 5) division and goes up to High School in our Coed U18 division. Sporting LS also offers adult recreational soccer.
A photocopy of the player’s birth certificate is required. The age requirement is evaluated only once a year, on July 31st. For the Fall season the age requirement must be met on July 31 of the same year. For the spring season the age requirement must be met on July 31 of the previous year.
Sporting Lee’s Summit strives to keep balanced teams. Teams may stay together from season to season if players return inc ocnsecutive season (spring and fall, not including indoor), and if requested during on-time registration; a draft for new players to create new teams or balance existing teams may be used, or location may be used to determine a new players team as well. If desired, parents may request their child be "re-drafted" onto a different team. New players are always welcome and will be placed on teams where needed. Generally, requests to play for a specific coach or with a specific player cannot always be honored, however SLS will make all efforts to place a player accordingly if possible.
Games
All games are played at 1501 and 1601 NE Blackwell Road located in the beautiful Legacy Park. The park is located in Lee’s Summit located at the intersection of Colbern and Blackwell roads.
Practices
Coaches schedule youth practices at various schools, parks, private property and churches. Generally, practices will be 1-2 times per week with a game to be played on the following weekend.
Uniforms
For the youth recreational soccer divisions, Sporting Lee’s Summit provides a team shirt that must be the outermost articles of clothing worn while on the playing field. Shin guards are required to participate in Sporting LS games and practices. Soccer cleats are optional, but Sporting LS does not allow baseball cleats (cleat on the toe of the sole) or football (rectangular cleats on the outermost part of the sole). Black shorts are the player’s choice, but not required. Players need their own soccer ball for practice:
- Soccer ball size 3 for ages Preschool through 2nd grade
- Soccer ball size 4 for 3rd grade through 6th grade
- Soccer ball size 5 for middle school through the adult divisions
Season Schedule
Sporting Lee’s Summit youth games are generally played on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. The first game is usually in the first weekend in March for the spring season and the last weekend in August will begin our fall season. We make every effort to play seven regular season games and one post season tournament for our recreational division with the exception of the U5-U6, High School and Adult divisions. Mother Nature does not always cooperate with our schedule and make up games are generally held on Sundays, between 9am and 7pm. The recreational division does not play on Labor Day or Easter weekends and may take a weekend off over Lee's Summit School Distrcits spring break.
Game schedules will be posted no later than one week prior to the first game of each season.

ADULT LEAGUE - Winter Indoor 2025-2026
8 v 8 Adult league for those 35+ is a less competitive league
14 games between the following dates: 11/2/25, 11/9/25, 11/16/25, 11/23/25, 12/7/25, 12/14/25, 12/21/25, 1/4/26, 1/11/26, 1/18/26, 1/25/26, 2/1/26, 2/15/26, 2/22/26, 3/1/26
8v8 Adult league is for those 18+ and is a more competitive league
Winter Adult 18+ games will be on Sundays starting November 2, 2025 through December 21, 2025
6 games between the following dates: 11/2/25, 11/9/25, 11/16/25, 11/25/25, 12/7/25, 12/14/25, 12/21/25
All games are played on Sundays at Lakeland Community Church Indoor Soccer Fields (913 E Colbern Rd LS, MO 64086). Please note that this is a recreational league and behavior that is determined to be too aggressive will not be tolerated.
***Team requests will be honored in order of registration until 10/22. After that date teams will be filled from the draft. We make every effort to accommodate team requests for registrations after 10/22 but they are not guaranteed.
