On Saturday, March 4th, Tabor University invited eight of the Sporting Lee’s Summit SC players to Tabor University to participate in a day long college experience. The event included multiple matches and meet-and-greet opportunities with several college coaches, current and former collegiate players.
Players participating in the event included Ethan Francis, Joshua Franco, Kyle Handy, Manny Hernandez, Nick Lumbard, Austin Meads, Israel Rocha and Jay Wright.
According to Ron Cox, Head Coach of the Sporting Lee’s Summit SC 98’s Academy Team the boy’s played extremely well and received high praises from the college coaches in attendance. Many of our players received offers to play at the next level during this event. I was extremely proud of the boys and the way the competed at a high level. Ron went on to say “this experience really brought out the best in our players. I’m looking forward to seeing our players this fall playing in college”.
More of these college experiences will be conducted throughout the spring 2017.
